The Manager, Pricing Enablement & Governance, provides pricing expertise and consultation in Testing, Inspection, Certification (TIC) Energy and Industrial Automation for new work, and FUS (reoccurring follow up services) pricing strategies, policy, guidelines, tactics, and trend analysis. Supports global industries, establishes global value/market-based pricing initiatives, and strategies in alignment with industry Go-To-Market strategies. Drives price execution to maximize profitability and growth of UL corporate goals. Manages UL Global new work pricing and FUS pricing. Maintains and updates pricing documentation and analysis databases.

  • Bachelors' degree in a quantitative discipline, economics or marketing or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing people.
  • Ability to transform data into meaningful stories.
  • Solid Microsoft Excel user including Pivot tables.
  • Ability to build relationships across different levels.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization.

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 USD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).

  • Set and manage pricing strategies, initiatives and tactics to develop and update final pricing recommendations for (add EIA info) segments
  • Directs and provides strategic pricing consultations to the managers and leads with solid quantitative, qualitative data
  • Price value work including statistical analyses, data gathering, pricing trends, market shares, risks and growth opportunities
  • Directs and works with global industry leads to establish proper price points for its products, services, markets, marks and bundle offerings, and provide proper solutions for long-term and short-term business trade-offs
  • Develop and maintain pricing tools that support efficiency and accuracy of quoting, pricing analysis and tracking
  • Annual New Work and FUS pricing updates. Develops and achieves horizontal collaboration and consensus with global Industry leads and regional sales managers in global consistency and stability in pricing strategies, policies, guidelines, methodology and process
  • Develops pricing implementation plans, ensure new work price point accuracy in the Global Pricing Tool for its industry, and effectively communicates pricing strategy and decisions in a timely fashion to UL internal stakeholders and/or external customers as needed
  • Monitors the market and competitor’s price changes in each industry for new work and FUS, listen to customers and region’s feedback so as to improve prices and pricing methodologies
  • Reviews FUS pricing with FUS, sales, and operation teams to improve current FUS pricing structure, methodology and price points, to ensure its profitability and growth
  • Resolves pricing and process issues, and customer complaints in a timely fashion for both new work and FUS. Provides pricing support for industry managers in customer training and visits
  • Develops pricing audit process and mechanism in the Global Pricing Tool and automatically generates needed reports and customer information for industry managers
  • Co-designs standard pricing reports with Global Pricing Matrix Manager to provide industry leads with on-going pricing status on acceptance rates, projects, revenues, margins and customer information Provides governance over the pricing policy and quoting Standard Operating Procedures to maintain structure.
  • Conducts performance analysis to identify underperforming contracts, significant shifts in buying behavior, top accounts profitability and recommend proactive or corrective action.
  • Provides performance insights on account renewals to COU with recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborates with Energy & Industrial Automation (EIA) COU on creating and maintaining price lists and discounting guidelines.
  • Generates different pricing analytics such as KPIs to measure price effectiveness and maintain established cadence of delivery.
  • Collaborates with Service Catalog team by providing the hierarchy of a service for implementation into the service catalog.
  • Provides new prices and revisions to the Service Catalog team to load into CPQ Partners with the Finance and Commercial Excellence team on identifying revenue thresholds and margin requirements.
  • Collaborates with COU partners to gain understanding on the pricing strategy that will guide the proper market approach for a service, segment, or business line.
  • Assesses Win/Loss to minimize lost opportunities by identifying the cause, apply corrective action, and learn from won business.
