Position Summary:

The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible to define and deliver the learning strategy for Global Business Services (GBS) Shared Service Centers (SSC) for the EMEA sites (Budapest Paisley and Sofia), ensuring that our people possess all the necessary capabilities and skills to meet current and future business performance ambitions. This is a critical role for ensuring the smooth running and growth of our EMEA sites as well as for promoting a sustained positive learning culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with sites leadership teams, workstream leads and the global Learning & Development team to define and implement the GBS EMEA SSC’s Learning and Development plan that meets short-term priorities whilst focusing on long term business objectives.
  • Proactively manage all aspects of learning initiatives (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate, Administrate), including new hire On-boarding, Professional and Process training, leadership, competencies and culture development initiatives. Build and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Develop and deliver training related to identified L&D priorities.
  • Develop and manage detailed learning and development plans from initial needs analysis through delivery and measurement.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training events and learning initiatives, including clear metrics that drive continuous improvement
  • Evolve policy, procedure and strategy that take into account the changing dynamics of the sites
  • Own and manage the regional L&D budget and vendor contracts
  • Own, manage and deliver Manager Development training
  • Act as the local ambassador for corporate learning and development programs
  • Manage and develop L&D Teams in the region
  • Build, manage, train and support the local internal trainer networks, act as the point of contact for them
  • Ensure audit readiness on the Learning and Development area
  • Lead and manage multiple learning and development projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial scoping and planning to execution and evaluation.
  • Evaluate and select external vendors or consultants as needed. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure the quality and timely delivery of outsourced learning solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and practices to ensure continuous improvement of learning and development programs.
  • Stay current with learning technologies and tools. Identify and recommend innovative and cost-effective learning technologies to enhance learning experiences and improve learning outcomes.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrable Learning and Development management experience gained within a complex,

shared services environment

  • Strong experience in adult learning and development; managing L&D teams
  • Outstanding People Manager Skills
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and across teams.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of following through on commitments.
  • Good planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive information in line with confidentiality expectations.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Good MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) skills

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ Learning and Development experience
  • Demonstrable Learning and Development experience gained within a complex, shared services environment, across multiple locations
  • 3+ years People Manager Experience, including remote people management
  • Experience in an operational business environment; demonstrable customer-focused approach
  • Proven experience in implementing programs and processes that yield positive results
  • Exposure to process improvement efforts (e.g. Kaizen, PPI, six sigma, practical process
  • Evidence of working within a matrix managed environment with proven ability to influence and lead change

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, organizational psychology, adult learning, etc.) is a plus
