Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Developer Education (DevEd) team empowers every Netflix employee to create, innovate, and deliver at their best by providing accessible, relevant, and high-quality learning experiences. Our product is a more knowledgeable and capable Netflix workforce, not any single educational program. Our outcome is collective innovation, efficiency, and increased productivity across our enterprise..

DevEd operates as the Hub of educational expertise at Netflix, partnering with domain teams who provide deep local context and domain-specific content. We are catalysts and enablers, not gatekeepers. We focus on four strategic pillars: Onboarding & Foundational Learning, Continuing Education & Enablement, Documentation Excellence, and Innovation Enablement.

About the role

General Program Manager L5 with breadth and depth of experience in Developer Education and Enablement.

We are seeking an innovative, proactive learning enabler who is passionate about technical training and documentation, and who will amplify how engineers across Netflix learn, ship, and leverage AI in their day-to-day work.

In this role, you will own global developer learning programs end to end: from onboarding and ongoing education to documentation strategy, AI-assisted workflows, and analytics on developer productivity. You will design and deliver high-impact training, drive key enablement initiatives, and work across Engineering, Product, and Support to create learning experiences that measurably reduce friction and boost developer velocity.

This role is pivotal in accelerating developer velocity through jobs-to-be-done (JTBD) driven learning experiences. As a highly trusted individual contributor, you will shape how our global engineering organization learns, adopts new tools, and continuously improves how we build.

Role will require occasional travel to Netflix offices for onboarding, learning events, and quarterly onsites.

What you will do...

  • Design and deliver customized onboarding programs and continuing education experiences through engaging formats tailored for various engineering personas.

  • Manage and prioritize requests for new and updated technical training and documentation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and learning needs.

  • Guide content creation alongside stakeholders using a train-the-trainer model, enabling domain teams to scale their own educational efforts.

  • Create insightful dashboards and performance metrics from raw data to measure and iterate on the effectiveness of onboarding programs, training sessions, and documentation quality.

  • Partner with internal and external program managers, instructional designers, technical writers, SMEs, and facilitators for program execution.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning that promotes inclusion and empowers employees to own their growth.

Your experience must include or demonstrate…

  • Confidence in public speaking, with experience delivering technical content to diverse audiences, including seasoned engineers and people leaders.

  • Hands-on experience with GenAI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Copilot) and ability to model effective AI-assisted workflows for technical audiences.

  • Ability to derive and apply data insights (support ticket analysis, learning outcomes, dashboards) to guide decisions

  • Track record of enabling and empowering teams/SMEs to create their own training content (e.g. train-the-trainer, hub-spoke models).

  • Proficiency in creating and editing engaging documentation, with strong opinions on documentation strategy, sustainability, and information architecture.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large volume and variety of requests while maintaining focus on high-impact, strategic initiatives.

  • Experience designing blended learning formats (live, hybrid, async, self-paced)

  • Experience leading large-scale initiatives end to end, and influencing stakeholders up, down, and across the organization

Other attributes that will excite us…

  • Deep GenAI fluency and enthusiasm for AI-powered productivity tools

  • Strong technical understanding and comfort collaborating closely with engineers

  • Experience optimizing global or remote training across multiple time zones

  • Familiarity with LMS or similar learning platforms

  • Experience balancing central standards with local team autonomy in training and documentation

  • Track record of running technical education or community events (internal conferences, tech talks, hackathons)

  • Clear perspective on inclusive learning design for a diverse, global workforce

  • Experience driving cultural or process change in engineering organizations

  • Ability to benchmark tools (AI and otherwise) against internal developer use cases and make evidence-based recommendations

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
