Job Description

The Senior Manager, Sales Training & Enablement is responsible for owning and leading the development, execution, and continuous improvement of training and enablement programs that support the Fleet Solutions sales organization at Cox Automotive. This strategic role partners closely with senior sales leaders to identify and prioritize learning needs, design impactful training experiences, and ensure alignment with the broader go-to-market strategy.

As a key liaison between sales leadership and the Sales Learning & Effectiveness team, this individual drives the creation of scalable, role-specific programs—including new hire onboarding, ongoing development for in-seat sellers, and frontline sales manager training—to accelerate performance and foster a culture of continuous learning.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with sales leaders across the enterprise to develop and execute training and enablement strategies that align with the broader go-to-market vision for the newly formed Fleet Solutions sales organization.

  • Operate at both the strategic and tactical levels—translating high-level sales priorities into actionable training programs that drive seller readiness, product fluency, and competitive differentiation.

  • Build and manage a comprehensive sales onboarding program for new hires, ensuring rapid ramp-up, role clarity, and early success in a complex fleet sales environment.

  • Design and deliver ongoing development programs for in-seat sales reps, focused on skill progression, product mastery, and evolving market dynamics.

  • Develop and facilitate frontline sales manager training to strengthen coaching capabilities, performance management, and leadership effectiveness.

  • Conduct field-level ridealongs, interviews, and shadowing sessions with sales team members to surface real-world challenges, uncover enablement gaps, and tailor programs to meet the needs of sellers and managers.

  • Align with key stakeholders across Sales, Global Learning, Marketing, Product, and Sales Business Operations to define the role of training within the broader enablement ecosystem and build a cohesive execution plan.

  • Establish strong, trust-based relationships with sales leadership through regular engagement to uncover needs, surface opportunities, and ensure enablement efforts are tightly aligned with business realities.

  • Collaborate with Learning Operations and Training teams to design solutions that enhance job-specific skills, deepen product knowledge, and sharpen competitive intelligence.

  • Partner with the Sales Learning team to ensure strategic training initiatives are integrated with foundational CORE sales training offerings, creating a seamless learning experience.

  • Analyze learning evaluation data and performance metrics to identify gaps, measure impact, and continuously improve training effectiveness.

  • Work across multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, demonstrating agility, prioritization, and a bias for action in a fast-paced, do-it-yourself culture.

  • Draft and execute detailed project plans and timelines, ensuring clarity, accountability, and timely delivery of enablement initiatives.

  • Represent the company’s mission, values, and vision through daily execution and leadership, working under the direction of the Director of Sales Strategy & Enablement.

  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, do-it-yourself culture, where success depends on the ability to think big, act fast, and execute with precision.
