Overview
The Principal – Payments Enablement is a senior individual contributor responsible for building and scaling key technical and operational capabilities across Corpay’s Payment Solutions organization.
This role is focused on enabling the successful rollout and adoption of strategic initiatives — such as payment messaging capabilities (including ISO20022 rollout), client integration frameworks, and emerging AI-driven solutions — by designing scalable approaches, improving internal alignment, and strengthening execution models across regions.
Unlike traditional Technical Sales or Solution Architecture roles, this position does not own day-to-day solution design or client delivery. Instead, it operates as a cross-functional enabler, working across Technical Sales, Client Engagement, Product, and Operations to improve how solutions are implemented, adopted, and scaled globally.
This role is ideal for a highly experienced payments professional who can operate both strategically and hands-on — structuring complex initiatives, introducing best practices, and driving execution improvements without direct line management.
Key Responsibilities
Payments Capability Enablement
- Support the development and rollout of strategic payment capabilities across Corpay’s platform (such as the rollout of ISO based messaging services).
- Define and standardize approaches for client integrations across API, file, and platform-based solutions.
- Partner with Product and Technical teams to ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with market requirements.
- Identify gaps in current capabilities and drive improvements to enhance consistency and scalability.
Client Integration & Adoption Frameworks
- Design and implement frameworks to improve client onboarding, integration efficiency, and long-term solution adoption.
- Introduce standardized approaches to reduce variability and complexity across client implementations.
- Support teams in ensuring alignment between solution design, delivery, and client expectations.
Client Lifecycle & Engagement Models
- Contribute to the development of structured approaches for managing client technical engagement beyond initial implementation.
- Define scalable models to support ongoing client success, adoption, and retention.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure clear ownership and continuity across the client lifecycle.
Process, Automation & Innovation Enablement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance client experience through process improvements and automation.
- Evaluate and support the adoption of new technologies and tools — including AI-driven and agentic solutions — to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance client experience across delivery workflows.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to pilot and scale innovative solutions across the organization.
Cross-Functional Enablement & Execution
- Operate as a senior cross-functional partner across Technical Sales, Project Management, Platform Support and Product.
- Provide structured input into product roadmap discussions based on client needs and implementation insights.
- Lead or support strategic initiatives that require coordination across multiple teams and regions.
- Introduce frameworks, processes, and best practices that improve overall delivery quality and organizational scalability.
Required Experience
- Significant experience in payments, fintech, or financial services, with strong exposure to client integrations and solution delivery.
- Proven expertise in ISO20022, payment messaging standards, and integration models (API, file, host-to-host).
- Experience building or scaling operational, product, or delivery capabilities across teams.
- Strong ability to operate across Product, Sales, and Technical functions in a cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to structure and drive complex initiatives from concept through execution.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor without direct team management.
Preferred Experience
- Experience at a global payments’ provider, bank, or fintech.
- Experience supporting Financial Institutions and enterprise clients.
- Exposure to AI/automation initiatives within payments or technical delivery environments.
