The Learning Designer at Coursera is a full-time role focused on the design and development of online learning content, particularly for Coursera-produced materials and APAC partners. The position emphasizes innovative learning design, prototyping, and collaboration with subject-matter experts (SMEs) and production vendors to deliver high-quality educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead learning design for scalable Coursera-produced learning experiences.
- Translate SME expertise into vendor-ready design deliverables.
- Leverage design systems and templates for consistent production across vendors.
- Collaborate on repackaging efforts to align modules and learning assets with skill outcomes.
- Provide detailed feedback and Quality Assurance checks to vendors and partners.
- Contribute to pedagogical R&D and tooling for AI-assisted design.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Education, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in instructional/learning design or curriculum development.
- Experience working with SMEs and production vendors.
- Demonstrated experience with modular, skill-aligned course design.
- Familiarity with GenAI tools for learning design.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with authoring and design tools such as Figma.
- Basic data fluency with analytics tools.
