The Director, Engineering Capability & Enablement is an essential and notable leadership position reporting directly to the Vice President, Software Engineering. This role will be accountable for establishing, driving and managing the engineering capability development strategy for Engineering function in Adobe. With the fast-paced evolution in the software landscape, engineering capability now needs to evolve as quickly as technology itself. Our approach needs to pivot from periodic, curriculum-based learning to continuous, in-the-flow upskilling that keeps engineers aligned with real-world AI applications. This means building systems that enable rapid experimentation, shared learning, and fast diffusion of best practices—so capability scales as fast as innovation.

This role will be the architect of “best in class” systems & mechanisms for enablement of engineers. We are looking for a dynamic ‘Capability Architect’ that integrates AI, real-time skill adaptation, and embedded learning ecosystems. The ideal candidate should have product management thinking, AI fluency, design thinking, and organizational influence to drive impactful, user-centric learning experiences aligned with business outcomes. • Act Real time - Build rapid skill sensing mechanisms (what’s emerging, what’s declining), launch micro-learning loops (weeks, not months), enable “learn → apply → share” cycles

  • Elevate learning with the lens of a ‘Product builder’ - Use AI to generate personalized learning paths, create simulations, code labs, scenarios

  • Create Embedded Learning Ecosystems via fostering Learning that is Peer-driven, Community-led, enablement through communities of practice, internal knowledge loops (demos, code shares), fostering learning through real work artifacts. Champion the design, management and delivery

  • Assess evolving engineering capability needs, map emerging skill requirements against competencies, identify gaps and rapidly iterate on solutions.

  • Evaluate the success of enablement solutions by assessing the achievement of learning objectives; Transfer that knowledge to continuously improvise; identify future learning needs and ensure alignment with industry best practices.

  • Demonstrate effectiveness of learning ecosystem through systematic program evaluation and continuous improvement strategies.

  • Expand the content library and learning tracks from pre-dominantly technical content to a well-rounded knowledge toolkit including troubleshooting, proactive delivery, process adherence, behavioral change and soft skills.

  • Review and transform the talent onboarding strategy to fasten the time to start creating value.
